Position Overview
The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users within the organization. This role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and system issues while ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The IT Support Specialist will also assist in system maintenance, installations, updates, and IT asset management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Respond to support tickets, calls, and emails in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Assist in the setup of new users, accounts, and access permissions.
- Support and maintain Microsoft 365, email systems, and collaboration tools.
- Monitor and maintain network connectivity, including troubleshooting LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi issues.
- Ensure data backups and recovery processes are functioning properly.
- Maintain IT documentation including procedures, configurations, and user guides.
- Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level support or vendors as needed.
- Support cybersecurity measures by monitoring system security and applying updates.
- Train and guide end-users on IT systems, best practices, and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical assistance.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and basic networking.
- Experience with IT ticketing/helpdesk systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with VoIP systems and remote desktop tools.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, or ITIL Foundation.
